When WADEBRIDGE arrived on 23 May 1981 she was escorted through the streets of Plymouth by a police car and a marching band. Amongst the hundreds of well-wishers who turned out to greet her were Danny La Rue and the then Miss United Kingdom, Caroline Seward.
